The Canford Schools Group is a growing family of leading independent schools, currently employing around 600 staff across our community. Following the successful recruitment of a full‑time HR Officer, a further opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and proactive HR Officer to join our HR team working on a part‑time basis to support the provision of a professional and effective human resources service across the School Group.
Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, work closely with managers and employees to offer day‑to‑day HR guidance and support across the full range of HR activities.
* Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, managing employee relations cases, coordinating appraisals and staff development, supporting wellbeing initiatives, and ensuring HR systems and records are accurate and compliant.
* Apply strong working knowledge of employment law to ensure compliance in all HR activity.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in a similar HR role is required.
* Professional discretion, ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, strong working relationships with all stakeholders, and a good work ethic.
* Preferably holding a CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) qualification.
Hours & Salary
This is a part‑time role, working 22½ hours per week. Preferred hours of work are Monday to Friday, 09:30–14:30 (with 30 minutes for lunch), although flexibility may be available for the preferred candidate. This is a full‑year position.
