Freelance Site Manager / Senior Site ManagerLocation: Portsmouth
Contract Length: 2–3 months

Pay: £350 per day (PAYE / Umbrella only – No CIS)
We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager to support a leading South Coast contractor on a major educational development in Portsmouth. This role focuses on early‑phase delivery, including full site set‑up, civils coordination, and utilities installation during a key stage of the project.
Role Responsibilities
1. Overseeing full site establishment and logistics planning
2. Managing groundworks and civils interfaces
3. Coordinating temporary works with the project engineering team
4. Planning and sequencing utilities and service installation
5. Leading daily coordination with subcontractors
6. Ensuring all works meet safety standards, specifications and programme targets
7. Supporting quality checks, sitepliance and daily reporting
Key Requirements
8. Proven experience as a Site Manager on large construction schemes
9. Strong background in groundworks, civils and early‑stage project delivery
10. Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain site standards
11. Excellentmunication and coordination skills

13. SMSTS
14. Asbestos Awareness
