We are currently looking for an experienced Paediatric Recovery Nurse Lead to join our HDU / ITU team here at The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.
The Paediatric Recovery Nurse Lead will be responsible for providing level 2 critical care patient undergoing invasive procedures who have been admitted to the hospital, as well as those admitted via the medical ward. Additionally, they will deliver level 3 critical care as required and offer support to the wards through the Outreach Service.

3. Teaching/Mentorship qualification
4. Minimum 3 years’ experience within the role of Recovery Nurse
5. Experience within the Independent sector
6. Experience in undertaking clinical
7. audit/s
8. Understanding of clinical governance and implications for practice
9. Understanding of HR processes
What are the Responsibilities of this Paediatric Recovery Nurse Lead role?
10. Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluation of a high level of critical care for patients
11. Delivery of a high level of post anaesthetic care for patients within the Theatre Recovery Room
12. Working with the Anaesthetic team to deliver high quality, safe patient care.
13. Delivering an Outreach service to the ward, offering support and guidance in the care of the acutely unwell patient.
14. Promote the safety, wellbeing and interests of patients, visitors and staff to the clinical areas
15. Active member of the emergency response team.
16. Participation in the on-call rota and internal rotation of shift (inc night duty)
17. Exhibiting a high level of teamwork with the unit and in the wider hospital environment.
18. Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the HDU and Theatre Suite, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives.
