Role Purpose
Working within the Punch People team, this role is both operational and strategic and would benefit from someone who enjoys building relationships at all levels of the business with a can do and proactive approach to supporting the wider People team with various HR initiatives. The role provides Generalist HR support to business areas within Punch making it varied and essential for you to be hands-on, whilst being keen to input into the overall Punch People Team strategy.
Accountabilities
Generalist HR Support
Provide day-to-day HR support to aligned business areas, acting as a first point of contact for people-related queries.
Build trusted relationships with managers, offering guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.
Employee Lifecycle
Manage HR processes across the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance tracking, and offboarding. Ensure accurate and timely updates to HR systems and employee records.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Support and manage recruitment activities for aligned business areas and help deliver a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for new team members.
Employee Relations Support
Assist with ER processes such as investigations, disciplinary and grievance meetings, ensuring documentation is prepared and maintained. Provide administrative support and guidance to managers throughout these processes.
Engagement & Culture
Support the delivery of our employee engagement surveys, including communications, system setup, and reporting. Help teams interpret feedback and take action to enhance employee experience.
HR Projects & Initiatives
Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that improve how we work and support our teams. Collaborate with the wider People team to deliver improvements in HR processes and systems.
Organisational Support
Assist in reviewing team structures and roles to ensure they support operational needs and business goals.
Policy & Compliance
Support the annual review and update of HR policies, ensuring they reflect employment law and company values. Help ensure consistent application of policies across the business.
Learning & Development
Support all central L&D activity, identify individual and departmental training needs, support personal development plans and assist with the co-ordination of apprenticeships.
HR Systems & Reporting
Support in the maintenance of our HR management systems with accurate employee data and reporting needs by preparing regular and ad-hoc reports.

Support annual pay review processes by preparing relevant data and documentation.
Technical Skills
Previous experience in an HR support role, ideally within hospitality or retail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a people-first approach.
Good understanding of HR processes and employment legislation.
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Comfortable using HR systems and handling confidential information.
CIPD Level 5 desirable but not essential
