Overview
Harris Hill is delighted to be supporting an international membership organisation working at the intersection of investment and climate change in their search for an HR Manager. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension, offered on a hybrid basis in London with two days per week in the office.
Role & Scope
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the HR Manager will play a central role in delivering high-quality HR support across a dynamic and collaborative organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day HR operations while partnering closely with managers and employees on the full employee lifecycle.
* Advising on employee relations matters including performance, probation and absence management.
* Oversee recruitment processes from job description through to onboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and new starters.
* Contribute to the development and review of HR policies in line with UK employment legislation.
* Manage learning and development initiatives.
* Oversee benefits administration and maintain HR systems, data and reporting.
* Help foster a positive, high-performing culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives, internal communications and organisational development activities.
* Work collaboratively with the wider operations team on cross-organisational projects and change processes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experienced HR generalist, ideally operating at HR Manager, HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor level.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and the confidence to provide clear, practical advice to managers.
* CIPD Level 5 qualification, or equivalent experience.
* Experience across recruitment, employee relations, HR policy and process development, alongside the ability to design and implement effective HR workflows and systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build trusted relationships across teams while handling sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
* Highly organised, pragmatic and solutions-focused, able to contribute strategically while delivering operationally in a fast-moving environment.
* Experience within the not-for-profit sector, membership organisations, or professional services environments is advantageous.
* Interest in climate, sustainability or responsible investment.
* Enjoy working in a small or medium-sized organisation where flexibility, initiative and a hands‑on approach are essential.
