Frontend Engineer (React / TypeScript)
£40,000 – £60,000 | UK (Remote-first / Hybrid)
We’re working with a UK-based, product-led software company building a platform used by thousands of real users to solve a genuinely complex problem space.
This is a midweight frontend role for someone who enjoys owning features end-to-end, thinking deeply about user experience, and working closely with backend and product peers in a low-ego, high-autonomy environment.
This is not a “pixel-pushing” role — frontend engineers here play a meaningful part in shaping the product.
The Role
You’ll be joining a small, experienced engineering team and working primarily on the frontend layer of a modern web application.
Day to day, you’ll:
* Build and evolve user-facing features using React and TypeScript
* Work closely with backend engineers to shape clean, practical APIs
* Translate complex workflows into clear, intuitive user experiences
* Take ownership of features from idea through to production
* Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and product decisions
You’ll be trusted to manage your own work, ask the right questions, and make sensible trade-offs.

Core experience:
* Commercial experience building applications with React
* Strong working knowledge of TypeScript
* Confidence working with APIs and real-world data
* Good understanding of component design, state, and side-effects
* Comfortable reasoning about trade-offs rather than chasing “perfect” solutions
Equally important:
* Clear communication and low-ego collaboration
* An ownership mindset — you care about outcomes, not just tasks
* Curiosity about users and how the product is actually used
* Comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-moving product environment
Nice to Have (Not Required)
* Experience in product-led or SaaS environments
* Exposure to performance, accessibility, or frontend testing
* Working closely with design or product teams
* An interest in improving developer experience and code quality over time
