Head of People, Ellesmere port £53,000-£55,000 37.5 hours (will consider condensed hours) Permanent Not for profit/Care sector HR Recruit is currently recruiting for a Head of People for our client in the Not for profit/care sector. Reporting directly into the Director of People, you will manage 6 direct reports. The role is largely operational and you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of an effective People function that supports employees to deliver the organisations strategic aims and objectives. Role responsibilities To oversee the People Team ensuring key people services are delivered. To support the professional development of the People Team members. Work in collaboration with all Heads of Service to ensure key business milestones are met. Alongside the Director of People, ensure that the continuous improvement ofsystems, policies and best practice is in accordance with legislative requirements. Oversee and manage employee relations casework, coaching managers of bestpractice Supporting the People Team with the management of day-to-day casework. Support the Director of People to implement and / or update of HR policies,procedures and processes. Oversee all family friendly polices and procedures including flexible working,maternity, paternity, shared parental and neonatal leave. Support the Director of People to deploy health and well-being initiatives for theworkforce to improve resilience. Work with external providers such as legal, occupational health and the commissioned Employee Assistance programme to ensure return on investmentand that staff are supported through external services. Develop and deliver people related training to managers as and when required. To oversee the organisations recruitment processes supporting the PeopleTeam to recruit future talent. Organise recruitment fairs and similar events Support the Director of People to embed employee recognition programmesaimed towards demonstrating the value and commitment to staff. Support a team of direct reports to deliver their full potential through coaching,sharing of expertise, upskilling and performance management. Person Specification You must have previous HR experience to be considered for this role Demonstrable experience in a generalist HR setting managing a HR service. Significant proven knowledge of employment law and its application Experience of providing professional advice supporting Senior/Managers Ability to lead, manage and oversee a team Able to deliver in a fast paced environment with regular changing needs Able to work on own initiative This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an organisation that values its people.
