Offer description

Do you thrive when developing inspiring and compelling content? Are you drawn to inspiring curiosity while fostering a deeper understanding of STEM, particularly sound and media technologies?

About us

The National Science and Media Museum (NSMM) explores the science and culture of image and sound technologies and their impact on our lives. The Public Programme Team is key to this ambition.

The team brings alive the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) that impacts all our lives and inspires the scientists of the future through a wide range of exciting and engaging programmes, including exhibitions, events, festivals, community partnerships and schools and families' activities.

About the role

As Interpretation Developer, you will be responsible for crafting the interpretation and content for individual exhibition and projects ranging from small displays to large-scale blockbuster shows.

Your programming will drive footfall, broaden our audiences, and support income generation. Through this work, you will engage people with the transformative power of sound and media technologies and help inspire future generations.

This position is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office required per week.

About you

By joining us, you'll bring experience in planning and writing compelling content, from crafting key messages to final copy using interpretive plans to simplify and inspire complex ideas.

With a passion for creativity and a sharp eye for detail, you'll see projects through to completion, ensuring the safe and engaging delivery of learning activities, events, and festivals.

Crucially, you will interpret content for appropriate audiences and plan exhibitions, shaping creative curatorial content and text.

Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
