Job role: Catering Manager / Retail Manager
Key responsibilities
* Responsible for managing the daily operations of a busy restaurant and coffee bar
* Plan, lead and deliver exceptional customer service
* Create a culture of service and teamwork
* Manage and drive all marketing activities to build customer loyalty and sales
* Hold daily briefings with the team to engage them on key messages and encourage discussion
* Ensure compliance with client standards and deliver a 5* service
* Motivate and lead by example, ensuring you and your team have fun at work and are proud of your efforts
* Seek opportunities to exceed customer and client expectations and increase sales
* Assist with preparation and presentation of food to company standards and ensure adherence to legislation including HACCP
* Monitor compliance with company and government regulations regarding customer service, food preparation and serving
* Responsible for financial and administrative duties: banking, reconciliation, and till operations
* Assist in compiling and delivering management reports in Word and Excel
* Day-to-day management of the ordering process and stock control
* Working knowledge of HACCP & Health & Safety laws
Requirements
* Previous experience as Catering Manager/Deputy General Manager within contract catering
* Strong organisational skills; ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines
* Positive attitude, professionalism and respect for others
* Passion for food, coffee and customer service
* Team player, able to communicate at all levels and share knowledge
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Computer literate with experience in Excel
* Financial understanding and budgeting management
* Good understanding of report writing and financial management
* Creativity and a flair for marketing
