Quality Manager
During an exciting time of expansion, we have a new vacancy for a Quality Manager to join our team based at our Hastings site to
ensure ongoing compliance with QMS/EMS standards, integrate R&D and Lean manufacturing principles, and manage finished goods and raw material quality, whilst driving ESG-related projects
and ensuring that the organisation is operating in accordance with environmental guidelines and targets. This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week on-site.
What are the main duties of this role?

To manage and control the effective introduction, development, application, use including appropriate audit/review of all necessary policies, procedures, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with any accreditation / standard / management standard the Company wishes to subscribe to.

Act as the management representative for the purposes of representing the company to regulatory and statutory bodies with regards to all aspects of the 'integrated management system'.

Ensure that the organisation is operating in accordance with environmental guidelines and targets. Your role will involve examining corporate activities to determine where improvements can be made and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation across the organisation. You'll also create, implement, and monitor environmental strategies to promote sustainable development.
· Lead internal and external quality audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Lead and implement projects related to the ESG pillars across the organisation.
·
Lead the organisation's Net Zero initiative, developing and executing carbon reduction plans for our Hastings, Manchester, and Watford sites. Manage the certification process for all three scopes of emissions, ensuring compliance and progress toward our targets.

Lead the maintenance and improvement of our EcoVadis certification, working with various departments to optimise our scores and sustainability performance, including environmental, social, and governance actions.

Responsible for implementing and executing inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure that products adhere closely to company standards. Working towards Industry 4.0 culture.

Drive the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement projects, consistent with and in support of the strategic plan and the business-operating plan. They will own the Lean Continuum/cultural change and improvement initiatives for the site by collaborating with site leaders on strategy and deployment objectives.

Responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of multiple New Product Introduction projects through to production. Working together with marketing and commercial team, to deliver the customers' requirements.

To lead and manage implementation of continuous improvement / Lean initiatives across the organisation.
· To maintain your own professional competence through appropriate continual review, development and attendance at agreed events to maintain knowledge/experience base.
· To identify and establish annual training and development requirements for those involved in the delivery of an effective management system and being consistent with the improvement of attitudes, skills or knowledge.
· To support training and development with the delivery of initiatives targeted towards improvement in the delivery of an effective management system across the business.
· Develop and manage the operations KPI's and communicate with all employees.
What we are looking for:
· At least 5 years' experience in a similar Quality/ Environmental Manager role
· Level 5 or Equivalent in Engineering, Quality Management or Environmental Studies or similar.
· Experience driving Environmental, research and develop initiatives within an organisation.
· ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification would be advantageous but not essential.
· Experience leading Net Zero project implementation would be advantageous but not essential.
· Proven Experience lead internal and external quality audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory
and company standards.
· Proven experience leading the maintenance and improvement of the EcoVadis certification or a similar certification.
· Proven experience leading and managing implementation of continuous improvement / Lean initiatives across an organisation.
· Experience in leading and developing a team.
