Frontend Developer - Belfast (Hybrid Working)

The company builds innovative AI-powered solutions designed to turn large-scale, complex data into meaningful insights that support critical operational decisions.
Position Overview
This hybrid opportunity is based in Belfast and offers a blend of office and remote working. The successful candidate will help shape and enhance the user interface of a sophisticated analytics platform, creating responsive, scalable, and intuitive web applications.
Working alongside backend developers and product specialists, you'll play a key role in building engaging user experiences, integrating APIs, and improving overall application efficiency within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Duties
* Integrating RESTful APIs for both configuration and data services
* Developing interactive data visualisation tools including:
o Geographic mapping
o Time-series displays
o Charts and graphs
o Data tables
* Creating and maintaining advanced forms and workflow configurations
* Handling asynchronous requests, user feedback, validation, and error states
* Writing unit and component tests
* Supporting the continued growth and enhancement of platform UI features
Required Experience & Skills
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in frontend development
* Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
* Solid understanding of HTML and CSS
* Experience working with REST APIs
* Ability to manage API responses and dynamic data rendering
* Knowledge of:
o Complex form handling and validation
o Role/permission-driven UI functionality
o Async state management and error handling
* Familiarity with data visualisation techniques such as:
o Geo-mapping
o Time-series data
o Pie, bar, and line charts
o Large tabular datasets
Additional Technical Knowledge
* Git and GitHub Actions
* Agile delivery environments
* Jira or similar project management tools
Desirable Technologies
* React or Angular frameworks
* D3.js or Chart.js
* WebSocket integration
* Figma or similar UX/UI design tools
* OpenTelemetry
* Testing tools including:
o Jest
o Selenium
o Playwright
o Cypress
* Accessibility standards (WCAG)
* Exposure to AWS or Google Cloud Platform
Advantageous Background
* Active GitHub portfolio or open-source contributions
* Experience producing technical content such as blogs, talks, or articles focused on frontend development or data visualisation
