We are looking for a Mobile Laboratory Technical Sales Executive for the Edinburgh Complex Fluids Partnership [DH1] https://www.edinburghcomplexfluids.com/ (ECFP).
Responsibilities
A successful candidate will drive and operate the ECFP Mobile Laboratory, working primarily with Small and Medium‑Sized Enterprises across Scotland and the North of England to help diagnose and solve industry challenges in the area of soft matter physics and complex fluids, including foods, beverages, construction materials and wastewater treatment. The appointee will run and maintain the ECFP Mobile Laboratory, plan engagement campaigns based on sector needs and geographical region, demonstrate ECFP capability, and work with colleagues to solve industry challenges, devise income‑generating follow‑on projects and impactful outcomes.
Qualifications
* A degree or equivalent industrial expertise in physical sciences, engineering or a related discipline.
* A full, clean driving licence, enabling the post holder to legally drive a 3.5‑tonne vehicle with manual transmission in the UK.
* Experience of technical sales or industry engagement in the context of science and technology.
* The ability to undertake day‑to‑day work and solve problems without close supervision, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing, to a range of audiences.

This post is full‑time (35 hours per week). We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non‑contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on‑campus working.
There is an expectation that the candidate will support securing sufficient funding from industrial sources to enable continuation of the role beyond the initial fixed term.
