Do you enjoy cooking? Why not come and join our community team lunch club as we provide welfare and support to the community of Basingstoke. This position is based at Basingstoke Salvation Army Corps.
Key Responsibilities:
1. preparing and cooking a 2-course meal for approximately 40 people every Tuesday
2. Washing up and cleaning the kitchen
3. Keep records of current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards
4. Working alongside community volunteers
5. Working with manager to prepare the menu and to organise the volunteer rota.
6. Monitor stock levels and advise the manager when stock needs to be replenished.
7. Advise the manager of any issues with the equipment in the kitchen.
It is important that the candidate understands the needs of customers and is committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army. The meal is to be prepared so that it is ready to serve at midday when the previous programme concludes.
You must hold a valid Food Hygiene qualification or be working towards this.
