Job Summary
We are looking for a Cook to join our team at Lindau Care Home, a welcoming residential home with 37 residents. The working hours are 7:30am to 2:00pm every Saturdays and Sundays. In this role, you will be preparing and cooking meals for our residents, keeping simple kitchen paperwork up to date, making shopping lists, and helping with some washing up when needed. You will be working alongside a Kitchen Assistant, who will support you by taking care of cleaning, washing up, preparing breakfast, and helping out in the kitchen. You will be entitled to paid breaks and annual leave as part of your role.

Duties
* Prepare and cook various dishes according to established recipes and menus.
* Assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for service.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
* Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.
* Keep the kitchen area clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations.
* Participate in menu planning and suggest new dishes based on seasonal ingredients.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
