Looking for a leadership role where you keep everything ticking behind the scenes?

We’re supporting a Birmingham school in recruiting an experienced Site Manager to take strategic responsibility for the school premises from April 2026.

This is more than unlocking gates and checking boilers. It’s about leading the site team, keeping children safe, and making sure the school environment runs smoothly, safely and professionally every single day.

The role at a glance

You’ll take the lead on the overall management of the school site, including:

* Strategic oversight of the premises and facilities

* Line management of site staff, including workload allocation and appraisals

* Overseeing and monitoring external contractors

* Ensuring high standards of security, maintenance and site organisation

You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring the building supports learning, not disrupts it.

-----------------------------------

Your key areas of responsibility

Security
Ensuring the site is secure at all times and procedures are followed consistently.

Health and Safety
Promoting a strong safety culture across the school and ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with regulations.

Maintenance
Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance to keep the environment safe, clean and fit for purpose.

Resources and Organisation
Managing site resources effectively and supervising staff to ensure high standards are maintained.

-----------------------------------

What the school is looking for

* Proven experience in site or premises management

* Strong knowledge of health and safety compliance

* Experience managing staff and contractors

* A proactive, organised approach

* Professionalism, integrity and a calm leadership style

You’ll set the tone. Visible, reliable, and solutions-focused.

-----------------------------------

Wider responsibilities

This role plays a vital part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate must:

* Promote equality and diversity in the workplace

* Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, security and confidentiality policies

* Contribute positively to the school’s ethos and vision

* Maintain high standards of personal integrity and professionalism

* Engage in ongoing professional development and performance management

Above all, you’ll help create a safe, welcoming environment where pupils, staff and visitors feel respected and supported.

-----------------------------------

This is a full-year position, working 36.5 hours per week, with some flexibility required to cover staff holidays and ensure the smooth running of the school.
