This friendly and relaxed 5 star rated kitchen is looking for a chef/cook to join the kitchen team as one of our winter team members is going back to summer commitments. We are not a ‘shouty chef’ kind of environment, we are a really lovely, hardworking bunch, everyone helps out and we all muck in and get involved with cleaning etc so there is always something to do. Our menu is BIG American style burgers and loaded fries alongside traditional home cooked meals (sausage and mash, Sunday roasts, cottage pie, fish and chips etc). There is the option to get involved in menu planning, sharing ideas for monthly specials and sharing your skills and expertise if you’d like to. We are looking for someone who. *has a passion for cooking, ideally with some previous kitchen/cooking experience but we can offer some training *is keen and willing to learn the ‘Rivo’s’ way to ensure that every plate that leaves our kitchen is top quality *is enthusiastic, works hard and is a team player *is reliable, calm, organised, methodical and can multitask, even under pressure. The role will involve shifts on a rota basis, Tuesday-Sunday (we are closed on Monday’s apart from bank holidays). Food service finishes at 9pm so usually finished by 9.30pm in the evenings. This position is for an average of around 20-25 hours a week and will mostly be for evenings and weekends with some flexibility for additional hours covering annual leave etc. If you don't work the weekend then you get a long weekend off as we are closed on a Monday (apart from bank holidays). Being a team player, reliable, passionate about cooking and having a willingness to learn is much more important than qualifications.
