What will I be doing?
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the site.
* The successful candidate will hold full operational responsibility, including health, safety and environmental compliance; managing a team of people based at the sites; managing performance KPIs for SUEZ and the local authority client.
* Operations include operating mobile plant, achieving high recycling and recovery rates for the sites, material flow management, provision and management of excellent customer service to the local authority client and the general public.
* The successful candidate will seek out value adding opportunities arising from the operations managed.

* Strong leadership in an HWRC or public‑facing waste environment
* Proven ability to lead and develop site‑based teams, setting clear expectations around safety, customer service, and operational performance while fostering a positive, engaged team culture.
* Positive, solution‑focused approach
* A proactive and hands‑on manager with a can‑do attitude, capable of resolving day‑to‑day operational challenges, managing customer interactions effectively, and maintaining service standards in a busy working environment.
* Commitment to safety and compliance
* Strong understanding of operating within a regulated environment, ensuring compliance with site rules, and health and safety requirements while maintaining a safe environment for staff, contractors, and members of the public.
* Resilience and adaptability
* The ability to remain calm, professional, and effective when managing operational pressures such as high footfall, challenging customer behaviours, incidents, or changes to processes and policies.
* Flexibility to support regional operations
* Willingness to undertake regional travel as required to support other HWRC sites, cover operational needs, or contribute to improvement projects.
* COTC / WAMITAB Level 4 – Hazardous Waste Transfer (desirable)
* A COTC or WAMITAB Level 4 qualification in Hazardous Waste Transfer is advantageous, demonstrating knowledge of hazardous material handling and compliance; however, this is not essential, with training and development support available.
