The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our committed Technical Services team as a Food & Non-Food Technologist. This is a chance to gain hands-on experience, support retailer clients, and make a real impact in the food industry.
Role details
* Shift: Monday to Friday
* Salary: £26,000
* Location: Rotherham
* Contract: 40 hours per week, Full-Time, Permanent
Responsibilities
* Using your technical knowledge to ensure product compliance with the latest regulations.
* Working closely with retailer food suppliers to manage product specifications and quality attributes.
* Collecting and analysing testing data to support marketability reports for retailers.
* Responding to technical queries from clients and preparing detailed reports.
* Preparing food samples for organoleptic testing (taste, smell, and texture analysis).
* Conducting physical, organoleptic, and appearance testing on products.
Qualifications
* A degree-level qualification in Food Sciences, Nutrition, or a related scientific field (or be in the final year of your degree).
* A solid understanding of food regulations, labelling, and the food industry.
* Strong reporting and writing skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing projects and meeting tight deadlines.
* A methodical, organised, and analytical approach, with exceptional attention to detail.
* The confidence to make well-informed decisions quickly and effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
* A strong interest in the food industry and a desire to learn and grow within the sector.
