About the Role
This full-time, permanent position involves teaching Food Preparation and Nutrition across KS3–KS5, helping students develop lifelong skills in health, nutrition, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver practical, creative lessons in modern teaching kitchens
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level coursework
• Lead enrichment such as cooking clubs, food competitions, and healthy living workshops
• Promote sustainability and cultural diversity in food education
ECT Support and Development:
• Two-year induction with mentor support
• Weekly CPD and lesson study groups
• Excellent departmental resources and team collaboration
• Opportunities to develop leadership and curriculum skills
Facilities and Resources:
• State-of-the-art kitchens with digital demonstration tools
• Well-resourced department with dedicated technician support
Experience and Qualifications:
• PGCE with QTS (or pending) in Food Technology or related field
• Strong practical teaching and classroom management skills
• Enthusiasm for food, health, and sustainability education
