About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds City College as a Learning Mentor in our Outstanding (OFSTED Feb 2018) 14+ Academies. We are seeking a dynamic, talented, and personable individual to support our learners. The post holder will work closely with all staff in a role designed to help learners progress both developmentally and academically.
The 14+ Academies provides a safe and inclusive environment that is accepting of everyone. It features smaller class sizes, a reduced curriculum, and a focus on vocational-based learning. The aim is to maximize potential, raise aspirations, and embrace individuality, with relationship building at its core and a high staff-to-student ratio.

What You Will Do
* Foster effective relationships with stakeholders, including parents/carers and external professionals.
* Implement interventions to support learners academically and developmentally, often with the Head of Year.
* Set targets for learners to support their progress and prepare reports.
* Work within the ethos of the 14+ Academies, utilizing tools like effort descriptors and APLs.
* Maintain and update tracking systems to identify intervention needs.
* Possess relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training for supporting disengaged/disadvantaged young people.
* Build meaningful relationships quickly.
* Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience supporting young people academically and developmentally, especially aged 14-16.
* Experience managing learner progress in educational settings.
* The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
