We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business undergoing a major site modernisation and automation programme. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of a high‑impact transformation project—introducing new machinery, upgrading existing systems, driving new processes and procedures, and managing all contractor activity on site.
This role will suit a hands‑on leader with proven experience in factory automation, engineering project delivery, or site upgrades within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading the implementation of new automation technologies, machinery, and equipment.
* Planning, coordinating, and delivering site improvement and modernisation projects.
* Developing and embedding new processes, procedures, and operational standards.
* Managing all contractors, ensuring safe working practices, compliance, and quality of work.
* Acting as the on‑site lead for H&S, ensuring full adherence to CDM, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
* Working closely with engineering, production, and leadership teams to ensure smooth project execution.
* Managing budgets, timelines, and project milestones to ensure successful delivery.
* Driving continuous improvement across the site to maximise efficiency and uptime.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Site Manager, Project Manager, Engineering Manager, or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
* Strong background in automation, machinery installation, or factory modernisation projects.
* Experience developing and implementing new processes and procedures.
* Demonstrable experience managing contractors, including H&S oversight.
* Solid understanding of compliance, CDM regulations, and safe working practices.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.
* Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
* Prince 2 Qualification (desirable)
