Haywards Farm School & Stable Futures, part of Amegreen Children’s Services, invites you to join us as a Learning Mentor. This is more than a job – it’s a chance to change lives. Based on the rural West Berkshire/Hampshire border, we offer a programme to help learners who can’t attend mainstream schools or find themselves waiting for a placement and in need of a bridge in between. Many learners’ need bespoke strategies to support them in attending and engaging in learning and we provide this tailored approach to all. In this role you will work 1-1 or with small groups (up to 4:1), bringing calm boundaries, consistency and encouragement to every session. You will be required to Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that focus on key topics of our Alternative Curriculum, this can include, but not limited to, Personal, Social, and Health Education, including emotional well-being, resilience, relationships, self-awareness, decision-making, and social skills. Art & Design, Horticulture, Bushcraft, Physical Education, Modern Britain, Careers and Next Steps Your Role: Adapt sessions to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring relevance and engagement. Build strong, supportive relationships with young people Lead engaging, bespoke sessions Support emotional growth and resilience Model healthy boundaries and positive behaviour Work collaboratively in a trauma-informed team You’ll thrive in this role if you are: Experienced with SEMH/SEN learners Confident outdoors in all weathers and around animals Creative, adaptable, and calm under pressure Have ability to build relationships which are positive for families and the young people and remain boundaries and therapeutic within your practice A great communicator with resilience and humour Teaching qualifications (QTS/QTLS) are a bonus, but not essential if you have other experience working with children.
