We are looking for an experienced Maintenance / Handyperson, preferably with previous experience in a care home to carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the buildings, their services and grounds in order to ensure that our care home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.
With support from the management team, you will have a commitment to quality along with a genuine interest in our client group.
Required knowledge & experience:
· General maintenance knowledge/experience e.g. minor electrical, plumbing and joinery work etc.
· Understanding of central heating systems, laundry equipment and hot & cold water systems.
· Good communication skills.
· Knowledge of current H&S Regulations and compliance
You will be organised and dynamic, and work well under pressure in a busy environment. You will have good communication and recording skills, have empathy and be approachable and flexible in your duties according to customer needs. The Maintenance / Handyperson will be a key figure in our home to whom staff, residents and visitors will turn for information.
Our home is located in central Gloucester and provides 24-hour residential and dementia care for up to 102 elderly residents. We are committed to providing a homely and safe, sustainable environment in which Service Users and Staff achieve their optimum state of health and wellbeing.
You must also be able to particiapte on an on-call rota basis for maintenance emergencies, paid for at an enhanced callout rate.
