Catering Manager - Broadstairs English Centre
As Catering Manager you will oversee the provision to all residential students and group leaders of a nutritious, balanced meal plan within an agreed budget; also providing packed lunches for all homestay students and group leaders and developing a selection of hot and cold snacks available for guests to purchase throughout the day, whilst ensuring that all allergies, intolerances and dietary laws have been strictly adhered to.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
· Overseeing the provision of 3 daily meals to all residential guests, taking into account special requests, notified allergies etc
· Discussing weekly menus and new dishes with the Principal and/or Accommodation Manager
· Overseeing the provision of packed lunches for homestay groups and group leaders
· Ensuring that meals meet the dietary laws or preferences of different religious groups
· Ensuring compliance with all food and hygiene regulations as required by the EHO
· Ordering supplies within an agreed budget
· Developing a selection of hot and cold snacks to be sold throughout the day in order to enhance our food offering and to generate additional revenue
· Taking part in weekly planning meetings
· Observe and implement the School's Child Protection Policy for Students under the Age of 18.
· Promote the School by regularly interacting with group leaders and other customers in a proactive, professional and friendly manner.
· Observe and implement the school's policies and procedures with regard to health and safety in the workplace, staff behaviour, dress code and general operations.

BEC is committed to the safeguarding of our under-18 students. This means that all applicants will be subject to enhanced suitability checks and references will be required on application. Reference requests will ask specifically whether there is any reason why an applicant should not work with children.
A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is a requirement of the position.
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
