The role
We’re looking for a HR Manager to join SSE plc. This role will play a key part within the business, reporting to the HR Business Partner and working closely with senior leaders to align people strategy with business objectives, supporting growth, transformation and the delivery of innovative solutions across the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities
* Lead the execution of in‑year people plans in partnership with corporate HR partners including Learning & Talent, Recruitment and Reward, and help shape long‑term, strategic people plans aligned to growth ambitions.
* Head Organisation Design and Strategic Workforce Planning activities with client groups to optimise performance.
* Lead Talent and Succession planning activities within Directorates, ensuring robust talent pipelines for all critical and leadership roles.
* Provide business leaders with guidance, support and advice on all aspects of the employee lifecycle – resourcing, reward, engagement, organisational design, change management and learning & development.
* Partner with senior leadership teams to create conditions for business to deliver best performance and build an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Qualifications
* Commercial focus with substantial HR generalist experience and a creative, proactive approach to problem solving, resilience and enthusiasm to embed change.
* Demonstrated ability to create and implement long‑term plans linked to business performance goals.
* Sound judgment‑based decisions, strong ethical standards and ability to work independently to achieve results.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to foster effective working relationships at all levels, including senior leadership.
* A structured and organised approach, capable of working swiftly to meet key deliverables while supporting and influencing multiple stakeholders.
