Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to work closely with business and technology stakeholders, translating their needs into scalable, performant, and reliable data-driven solutions. You will design enterprise-wide data architectures, develop governance strategies, and deliver modern data capabilities that enable actionable insights and long-term business value.
Responsibilities
 * Partner with stakeholders to identify requirements, conduct discoveries, and design data-driven solutions that align with business and technology strategies.
 * Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise insights for stakeholders.
 * Design and implement enterprise-wide data architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
 * Define and develop data strategies, governance frameworks, and operating models spanning technology, people, and processes.
 * Build and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
 * Enable seamless data integration across platforms using APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures, incorporating structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
 * Contribute to the development and productionisation of new data capabilities through discovery, prototyping, and solution delivery.
 * Deliver customer value by ensuring solutions are context-aware and business-aligned.
Qualifications & Experience
Technical:
 * Proven hands-on experience with data platforms (Azure, AWS, Informatica).
 * Strong understanding of data modelling approaches (e.g., Kimball, Star Schema, Data Vault).
 * Proficiency in cloud and DataOps solutions, particularly within Azure or AWS ecosystems, including event streaming (Azure Event Hubs, Kafka).
 * Experience with Big Data solutions (Hadoop, Cassandra).
 * Knowledge of compliance standards (GDPR, ISO 27001) and architecture frameworks (TOGAF, DAMA).
 * Skilled in using architecture tools (Visio, Draw.io, Archi, SparxEA).
General:
 * Eligible for UK Security Clearance.
 * Minimum 5 years of experience in data-focused roles, with at least 2 years in data architecture across public and/or private sectors.
 * Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience supporting pre-sales and practice growth.
 * Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
 * Active participation in data standards bodies, open-source projects, or industry forums is a plus.
