What you’ll be doing
Core objectives of this role are the development and maintenance of Themis (contract document management web application), web-based applications and the Hachette Azure Backend. Design, develop and implement technical solutions in Microsoft Azure environments using .NET, React.JS and other programming languages.
You will work with the in-house development team in the publishing systems directorate to develop and maintain in-house built Hachette applications. Ensure applications are developed per best practices and compliant with Hachette policies. Specifically, you will support and develop the backend stack in C#.NET hosted on Azure and React.JS front end applications. The post holder will collaborate with Hachette partners to design and deliver web applications and APIs for the Hachette group of companies.
You will be a key member of a team of skilled specialists managed by the Web Manager. The team maintains existing systems, implements new solutions and provides technical input into strategic projects.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an excellent communicator, as the role includes direct contact with the business to gather technical requirements and produce technical specifications. The post holder will collaborate with Hachette partners to design and deliver web applications, APIs, and RAP for Hachette group of companies.
* Proficiency in C# and .NET Core
* Experience with SQL Server and/or Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and familiarity with other database technologies
* Cloud architecture and engineering skills, ideally in Microsoft Azure (Kubernetes Service, Container Apps, App Service, Functions, Event Grid, Service Bus)
* Strong experience with Microsoft Azure API Gateway
* Strong understanding of architectural design patterns
* Experience with SDLC in an agile environment
* Strong experience in developing REST APIs, Web Applications and distributed systems using common design patterns
* Experience using Azure DevOps for cloud repo management and Azure DevOps Pipelines for deployment
* Extensive experience building solutions with the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents)
* Understanding of other RPA platforms such as UiPath is preferable
* Expertise in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON, as well as React and/or Vue.js

The role is based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
