Overview Currently managing an estate but looking for a step up? Fancy working for the NHS without losing your commercial edge? Want to keep evolving your sites but are stymied by senior management? Read on…
Responsibilities Here you'll be overseeing hard FM operations for a busy NHS hospital, but that's not the exciting part. This is a Trust with a mission; they're forward thinking and have the ambition of becoming one of the most innovative hospitals in the NHS in terms of tech and providing a great environment for both the people working in it and the community they serve. As Head of Estates you'll be front and centre of driving this.
The estate you'll be running is fairly new so this won't be your typical NHS Trust patch up job dealing with Victorian plumbing and even older fabric, it's more about ensuring the main and satellite sites keep up to date with the latest technology and successful healthcare practices. We have the capability to continue innovating and expanding the service we provide to the local community - you will lead the way on this.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to prove themselves within an interesting and constantly evolving estate. You've got a well-experienced estates team to rely on and will work closely with the Ops Director and Head of Capital Projects, what we'd like you to bring is the steady platform of a functioning estate that we can then build on.
Your leadership is key. Day-to-day you'll be looking after a team of 30 plus you'll be guiding the way we develop, maintain and use the estate in the future. If you're comfortable managing people and confident overseeing FM innovation this is the job for you.
Qualifications We've a great reputation for developing staff so you don't need to have been a Head of Estates for a NHS Trust before but, as you'll be our subject matter expert, you will need to have a strong background managing hard FM services across a complex site.
Benefits We're the limited company arm of an NHS Trust so bring the best of both world to our employees. You'll still have access to a lot of scope and negotiating power coming from a public sector body but with the freedom to pursue commercial interests and build your reputation through business savvy.
