About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of a 250-unit timber frame residential development in Burgess Hill. This is a flagship project for an established and growing house builder with a strong reputation for quality and delivery.
As Senior Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundwork through to completion
2. Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
3. Drive programme delivery and maintain project timelines
4. Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
5. Maintain high quality standards in line with NHBC requirements and company expectations
6. Lead, motivate, and develop site management staff and operatives
7. Conduct regular progress meetings and report to senior management
8. Manage site logistics, sequencing, and material coordination (with particular focus on timber frame installation)
9. Liaise with technical teams, commercial teams, and local authorities where required
About You
10. Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager within residential housebuilding
11. Demonstrable experience delivering multi-unit housing developments (200+ units preferred)
12. Strong knowledge and experience of timber frame construction
13. Excellent leadership and organisational skills
14. Ability to manage multiple phases of construction simultaneously
15. Strong understanding of NHBC standards and UK building regulations
16. SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid qualified
17. A proactive, solutions-focused approach with attention to detail
