SEND Learning Mentor
Location: Chester
Working Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 15:30pm
Start Date: 1st September 2025 (or as soon as available)
Contract Type: Term Time Only

Prospero Teaching are seeking a committed and empathetic SEND Learning Mentor to join our specialist school in Chester. The school supports students aged 4 to 19 years, many of whom have autism, as well as additional learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.
About the Role:
As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping to remove barriers to learning and build positive relationships. You will play a vital role in promoting emotional wellbeing, social development, and positive behaviour, while working alongside a passionate and experienced multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build trusting relationships with students to support engagement and learning.
2. Provide tailored mentoring to support behaviour regulation and emotional resilience.
3. Help implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
4. Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support.
5. Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
6. Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or additional needs.
7. Calm, patient, and resilient with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Relevant qualifications or training (, in youth work, behaviour support, or mental health) are desirable but not essential.
