About the role
We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on HR Manager who will provide a professional and proactive HR service. Working closely with senior leadership this is an exciting opportunity to truly shape the people and culture of a growing business. The role is perfect for someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys building structure, and is confident advising managers across all levels of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead the implementation, manage and optimise use of HR processes such as Sage HR or similar HRIS.
* Review, maintain and update all HR policies, procedures and documents.
* Manage the recruitment process, including CV sourcing and screening and support hiring managers with shortlisting and selection.
* Manage onboarding and offboarding from end to end.
* Issuing contracts of employment, ensuring compliance and protecting the business.
* Provide day-to-day HR advice on sensitive and complex situations.
* Travelling to sites and regional offices to ensure effective face-to-face support for managers and to build strong, trusted relationships across the business.
* Monitor attendance and absenteeism, prompting and coaching managers on appropriate next steps.
* Drive the probation process, review coordination, collate paperwork, and follow up on extensions.
* Coordinate annual appraisals, ensuring reminders and document control.
* Deliver basic HR training to managers to improve confidence and consistency.
* Ensure compliance with employment law and internal governance standards.
* Support or manage payroll, ensuring accuracy and on-time completion.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven HR leadership experience.
* Strong ER and recruitment experience.
* CIPD Level 5 qualification.
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Confident, proactive, and solutions-focused.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Full driving license is required.
