I am recruiting on behalf of a SAAS business based near Chorley who are looking for a Junior Developer to join their team at £30k - the job would need a max of 1 day on site per month (albeit I placed a Junior Developer with the business in January and they have been to site twice in 6 months).
Attitude and ability to learn is essential here.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The purpose of the Junior Software Engineer role is to contribute to the development of software solutions by delivering assigned tasks, designing effective solutions for small-scale engineering challenges, and building foundational skills to become a reliable individual contributor. The role focuses on executing tasks within a team, collaborating with senior developers, and taking ownership of smaller problem spaces while adhering to coding standards, proactively testing work, and demonstrating awareness of non-functional principles like accessibility, performance, and security. Junior engineers are expected to make steady progress, communicate effectively, seek guidance when needed, and provide and accept constructive feedback to ensure high-quality outcomes.
KEY SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
* Programming Skills: Proficiency in C#, including OOP concepts (inheritance, encapsulation, polymorphism).
* Coding Standards: Knowledge of coding guidelines and version control (e.g., Git) for clean, maintainable code.
* Testing and Debugging: Ability to write unit tests and debug code to ensure quality.
Salary at £30k + benefits.
