We are currently seeking a reliable, proactive and highly organised Site Manager to join a warm and welcoming Primary School in Hampshire. This is a full-time, permanent position starting January 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate). The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced premises professional to play a vital part in ensuring the school remains a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and families. About the Role As the Site Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the upkeep, safety and smooth day-to-day operation of the school premises. Daily duties will include: • Overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school site • Carrying out minor repairs, DIY tasks and preventative maintenance • Managing site contractors, ensuring safeguarding and safety compliance • Conducting regular health & safety inspections and risk assessments • Monitoring and maintaining heating, lighting and alarm systems • Managing stock levels and ordering site-related supplies • Ensuring safe storage and handling of equipment and materials • Supporting the setup of school events, assemblies and community activities • Opening and locking the site daily, and responding to emergency callouts when required This is a practical, hands-on role that requires initiative, flexibility and strong organisational skills. Experience and Qualifications • Experience in site, facilities or caretaking roles (school experience desirable) • Strong practical and DIY skills with the ability to carry out minor repairs • Good understanding of health & safety regulations and statutory checks • Ability to manage contractors and organise maintenance schedules • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • Reliable, proactive and able to prioritise tasks effectively • Must hold or be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check Salary Paid according to experience and aligned with local support staff pay scales.
