Your key responsibilities
As an Assistant Director in the ODD team, you will assist in business origination – pitches and presentations to potential clients – and lead project delivery, working with senior client stakeholders within tight timeframes for EY’s most demanding clients. You will advise across all sectors, supporting key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for value creation. You are also expected to contribute to practice development initiatives and support our focus on creating a great place to work.
Skills and attributes for success
* Industry and functional experience: engineering, supply chain, or graduate scheme experience at a large corporate.
* Consulting experience: familiar with a large‑scale consulting environment or industry role, able to perform and summarise analysis into management insights and recommended actions at pace.
* Flexibility: ability to support broader Operational and IT work.
* Role model: act as a role model, supporting development of junior team members and carrying recruitment and training responsibilities.
To qualify for the role you must have
* Professional services / consulting background.
* Experience in transactions – due diligence, carve‑out or integrations – or deep understanding of one or more core operational functions.
* Strong analytical skills, linking operational analysis to financial statements and understanding the implications of findings for client strategy.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Experience building strong relationships with senior clients, including influence and support to key decision makers.
* Experience supporting sales and business development processes for professional services projects in a large‑scale consulting environment.
* A track record of successful project delivery in corporate businesses, managing project team members and vendors.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience producing and reviewing high‑quality reports, papers, presentations and thought leadership.
