The Role We are looking for a skilled Handyman with strong painting experience to join our Lakeside team. This role will be hands‑on, varied, and ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining and improving building fabric to a high standard. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of general maintenance tasks, with a strong focus on interior and exterior painting, ensuring the site remains safe, functional, and presentable. Package & Benefits Location: Grays, Lakeside Shopping Centre Salary: up to £37,000 per year Hours: 06:00am – 14.30pm Monday to Friday Company Benefits Pension scheme Company Events Wellbeing Benefits – 24 hours turnaround GP appointment for the whole family 25 days holiday (not including bank holidays) Responsibilities Carry out high‑quality painting and decorating across the site. Complete a variety of handyman and building fabric repairs, including minor tiling, grouting, and general touch ups Undertake both planned and reactive maintenance tasks as required. Source materials and equipment through your Supervisor or Manager. Maintain accurate records of work completed and obtain necessary sign‑offs. Identify additional works and report them for approval. Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and safe working procedures. Be flexible with working hours, including occasional evenings or weekends where needed. Skills & Qualifications Required City and Guilds or equivalent qualifications in Painting and Decorating would be desirable Must hold 3A-3B MEWP Licence. Strong experience in general handyman/fabric maintenance. Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations. Ability to work independently and follow both written and verbal instructions. Physically capable of manual handling and working at heights or confined spaces where required. Good communication skills and a professional approach. Basic computer literacy.
