We are currently looking for a Labourer to join our team in Hemel Hempstead.
This role is to support maintenance and construction teams in the delivery of repairs, refurbishments, and general works on social housing properties. The role involves manual labour, assisting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring work sites are clean, safe, and efficient.
Main duties involve:
* Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, plumbers, electricians) with day-to-day tasks.
* Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
* Clear and prepare sites for work, including removing debris and waste.
* Conduct basic maintenance tasks such as sanding, painting, and patch repairs where required.
* Set up and dismantle scaffolding, barriers, and temporary structures as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas in occupied and void (vacant) properties.
* Deliver materials to various job sites within the housing stock.
* Communicate effectively with tenants and colleagues in a respectful and professional manner.
* Report any health and safety risks or property issues to supervisors.
* Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and GDPR.
Skill & Experience:
* Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or a similar labouring role.
* Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
* Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks over extended periods.
* Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
