Castleford Wheldon Infants and Nursery school would like to appoint a Learning Mentor to start in September .
We are looking for a committed professional with drive and passion to support some of our most challenging pupils to achieve their learning potential.
As a Learning Mentor, you'll be working closely with teachers and SEND staff to provide support for pupils and their families.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of behaviour management procedures, attendance, parenting support and will be familiar with safeguarding processes and understand its importance in a diverse school environment. You will also demonstrate flexibility and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and pupils alike. You will be able to demonstrate resilience and the ability to manage on occasion, challenging pupil behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide mentoring to pupils, focusing on their personal and academic development.
2. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to create a supportive learning environment.
3. Develop and implement strategies to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
4. Be responsible for supporting with whole school behaviour, attendance and safeguarding
5. Monitor and report on pupils' progress, ensuring they receive the necessary support.

6. Proven experience in mentoring and supporting pupils.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
