Riverside Catering have 2 vacancies for our Cook in Charge posts at Liberty House, which is based 5 minutes away from Rotherham town centre (Masbrough area).
Liberty House is a short-stay centre for Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Their aim is to provide a valuable and enjoyable experience for all their young people.
All young people have individual care plans which highlights their everyday needs. This will detail things from what they like doing to what they like to eat.
At Liberty House, we cater for a maximum of 10 people including any special dietary requirements, 52 weeks per year on a rota basis.
You will be responsible for activities in this busy kitchen connected with the provision of a catering service. You will prepare, cook and serve meals. Relevant experience of large-scale catering is essential. You must demonstrate good hygiene practices and have a high level of personal hygiene.
Other duties include, portion control, special diets, some electronic tablet use, health and hygiene and health and safety practices.
Requirements to fulfil the duties include relevant experience in a catering environment, you will possess a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
The post works out at a 6 hour contract, Sunday to Friday.The successful candidates will work for 6 days, every 4 weeks.
The working times are 4 hours per day - 14:00 until 18:00. (Sundays are paid at 1 + 1/4 time).
This equates to working 12 weeks throughout the year being paid for 24 hours per month. (There will be some additional hours if covering for sickness and holidays, when required).

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year.
