School Catering Manager

Salary circa £30,000 pro rata
Thomas Telford School is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to take on the role of Catering Manager. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and dedicated professional to manage our school catering service and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the School Restaurant.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in catering management, ideally in a school environment. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team are essential, together with knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-day Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the School Restaurant, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained at all times.
2. Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of catering staff, ensuring all training is up to date.
3. Menu Planning & Food Preparation: Work with the team to plan healthy, balanced, and varied menus that cater to the needs of our diverse student body and staff.
4. Health & Safety: Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
5. Budget Management: Maintain financial control of the catering department, including managing costs, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels to meet the school’s needs.
6. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors, ensuring their dining experience meets the highest standards.
