The role
As a Laboratory Quality Manager, you are leading quality assurance across accredited laboratory operations within a highly regulated, high‑hazard nuclear environment. Your expertise protects safety, ensures compliance, and enables confident decision‑making across complex programmes.
This is a permanent role, 37 hours per week, based full time at Greeson Court in Moor Row, Cumbria. Flexible working options can be discussed where business needs allow.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Leading and prioritising quality management activities using risk and opportunity management tools
2. Providing expert advice and guidance on the flow‑down of quality requirements across the supply chain
3. Investigating quality events effectively, ensuring lessons learned are identified and shared
4. Supporting business winning activities, contributing to tender reviews and quality input
5. Coaching and influencing teams at all levels to deliver quality plans and performance targets
Essential experience of the Laboratory Quality Manager:
6. Proven experience in quality management within nuclear or another highly regulated, high‑hazard industry
7. Demonstrable leadership of ISO accredited management systems
8. Strong experience conducting and leading quality audits
9. A track record of influencing stakeholders and driving continuous improvement
Qualifications for the Laboratory Quality Manager:
10. Degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent qualification supported by relevant experience
11. Approved Auditor qualification or demonstrable auditing capability
12. Professional quality qualifications are advantageous
