Main Purpose of the Role & Responsibilities:
As a Lead Architect for Data, you will be responsible for delivering modern, effective data and AI solutions across a range of clients. You’ll act as a thought leader in your domain, working closely with senior stakeholders to define principles, set strategic direction, and shape both functional and non-functional solution designs.
You will lead and mentor a team of architects and engineers, supporting them in their development and career progression. Your technical leadership will extend to advising multi-disciplinary agile teams, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business outcomes.
This role includes influencing technology policy, defining standards, contributing to account strategies, and building strong customer relationships. You’ll bring insight into emerging technologies and maintain a commitment to ongoing learning and growth—both for yourself and those around you.
Minimum (Essential) Requirements:
* Comprehensive understanding of current and emerging data and AI technologies (e.g., IoT, edge processing, event-driven architectures, serverless computing, RDBMS, NoSQL, machine learning, cognitive services).
* Strong blue-chip consulting experience with public sector clients
* Proven accountability for designing, building, and deploying scalable, data-intensive or AI-powered systems in a production environment.
* Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS offerings.
* Proficient in data integration approaches such as messaging systems, queuing, change data capture, or data virtualization.
* Ability to balance and prioritise non-functional requirements in solution design while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Commercial awareness and the ability to make decisions with clear understanding of business impact.
* Strong leadership skills with a focus on fostering inclusive, empowering, and performance-oriented team cultures.
Desirable:
* Experience managing others, setting performance objectives, providing feedback, and conducting reviews.
* Active participation in technology communities or thought leadership initiatives.
* Passion for sharing knowledge and discussing evolving technology trends.
