Quality Manager
Location: Newcastle, (with travel to sites across the UK)
Rate: £400- £450/day
Duration: 6 months
Potential to transfer to permanent employment in the future
Turner Lovell are supporting a leading international engineering organisation with the recruitment of a Quality Manager to support a major UK contractor with their delivery of electrical equipment to projects across the UK and Ireland.
The organisation provides, installation, commissioning and maintenance services, supporting the reliability and performance of electricity systems. They are keen to redefine and establish a culture where the quality team is embedded and maintained within the project from tender to handover.
We are seeking an experienced Quality Mananger to play a key role in ensuring project delivery meets the highest quality, regulatory, and customer standards. This position will suit someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working across multiple stakeholders within a project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for quality matters with collaborate with Project Managers, commercial teams, customers, stakeholders, and suppliers, to uphold quality throughout the project lifecycle
Develop and maintain project quality plans aligned with internal and client requirements
Conduct audits and inspections, tracking findings through to resolution
Manage non-conformances, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Support supplier quality to ensure external deliverables meet required standards
Produce regular quality performance reports for stakeholders
Requirements
Recognised qualification in Quality, Engineering, construction or a related discipline
ISO 9001 internal auditing qualification essential
Previous experience in quality management within engineering, infrastructure, maintenance, or industrial environments
Strong understanding of quality management systems and project-based processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
Willingness to travel frequently as required
This opportunity would suit candidates from energy, utilities, engineering services, or other industrial sectors looking to take on a key role within a project-focused environment. Knowledge of switchgear circuit breakers transformers and similar equipment would be a huge advantage.
