We’re looking for an entry level Food Technologist to join the team reporting to our Technical Manager at Popeyes UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Food Science graduate or someone already starting out in their food quality career who wants hands-on experience across restaurants, product quality and technical processes. You will play an important role in safeguarding the quality, safety and consistency of Popeyes food across the UK. In this role you will learn how to manage technical workflows, support product approvals, complete in-restaurant quality checks and help ensure every item meets our specifications, regulatory requirements and the high standards our guests expect. This is a varied and exciting role with exposure to office work, restaurants, technical documentation and occasional factory visits, giving you real insight into how quality operates in a fast-growing QSR brand. What You Will Do Here • Carry out routine in-restaurant quality checks to monitor food quality, safety, freshness and compliance • Support the product approval process including samples, documentation and technical data • Create and manage Product Information Forms and help coordinate product validation sessions • Investigate restaurant and customer complaints by gathering information, identifying trends and supporting corrective action processes • Support allergen and nutrition data management and keep technical information accurate and up to date • Assist with lab sample coordination, reformulation projects and wider technical admin tasks • Build technical understanding through field visits and exposure to key product categories • Work closely with the Technical Manager and internal teams including Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain and Marketing What You Will Bring • A degree in Food Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in food quality • A strong interest in food safety, quality and how great products are delivered consistently at scale • Basic understanding of food safety principles and HACCP • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation • Confidence communicating with restaurant teams and cross-functional colleagues • Strong organisational skills and willingness to manage multiple tasks at pace • Curiosity, motivation and the desire to grow quickly in a technical role • Ability to travel when required Benefits • Competitive salary and bonus scheme • Private healthcare and life assurance • 33 days holiday including bank holidays plus your birthday off • Wellbeing and lifestyle benefits through our platform • Cycle to work scheme and gym discounts • Opportunities to build your career within a fast growing business At Popeyes, everyone counts.
