Internal Sales Executive – Mechanical Engineering Products

A well-established specialist engineering manufacturer is looking to appoint an Internal Sales Executive to support and grow a defined range of mechanical products within its portfolio.
This is a commercially focused role within a precision engineering environment. The successful candidate will work with moving mechanical components and must be comfortable understanding specifications, part configurations, and how products integrate within wider propulsion or drive systems.
The Role
Manage inbound and outbound sales activity for a range of mechanical engineering components
Support the growth of standalone product lines alongside core propulsion systems
Interpret customer requirements involving rotational speeds, shaft sizes, ratios, and technical specifications
Liaise closely with production, procurement, and overseas suppliers to ensure correct product availability
Manage quotations, purchase orders, pricing, and stock coordination accurately
Build strong relationships with distributors and engineering customers
Maintain structured CRM records, forecasting data, and reporting
The Person
Experience in internal sales, technical sales, or sales support within a mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment
Comfortable discussing mechanical components and understanding basic engineering concepts (e.g. shaft speeds, gear ratios, tolerances)
Able to read and interpret technical information and part specifications
Strong organisational and administrative skills (essential)
Commercially minded with a proactive sales approach
Confident communicator who can deal credibly with technically minded customers
Bright, curious, and capable of learning product detail quickly
