We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Quality Manager to lead all quality-related activities across the entire organisation, ensuring that every department upholds consistently high standards. This role is central to driving continual improvements in both process quality and product quality, and embedding a strong right-first-time culture throughout the business.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the company’s Quality Management System and ensure robust quality controls, supplier quality standards, and effective corrective and preventive actions are in place to support both existing and new product lines. This is a practical, highly collaborative role that works closely with Design, Production, Engineering, Technical, Purchasing, Customer Service, and the wider supply chain to identify issues, implement improvements, and raise quality performance across all functions.
Operating across the full product lifecycle from initial design and development through manufacture, release, and in-field performance. The Quality Manager will champion cross-departmental problem-solving, strengthen quality ownership at every stage, and elevate overall quality performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage, maintain, and improve the company’s QMS in line with ISO 9001:2015
• Improve manufacturing quality through stronger process controls, inspection methods, and workmanship standards
• Analyse returns, warranty failures, customer complaints, and internal defects to identify trends and root causes
• Drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce repeat issues and improve long-term product reliability
• Work closely with production teams to improve process capability, workmanship standards, and right-first-time quality
• Establish and monitor key quality KPIs including returns, internal rejects, rework, and supplier defect levels
• Develop and implement inspection and control plans for critical products and components
• Work with suppliers and purchasing to improve supplier quality and resolve component-related issues
• Lead containment and escalation activity for significant product or process quality concerns
Skills and Experience Required
• Proven experience in a Quality Manager or similar quality leadership role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and quality management systems
• Experience of improving manufacturing quality and reducing defects, returns, or warranty issues
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving ability
• Experience working with suppliers and managing corrective actions
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across different departments
• A practical, data-driven approach with a strong focus on continuous improvement
Experience in electrical assembly, metal forming/bending, fabrication, or injection moulding would be advantageous.
