ACT Schools is a registered independent school for students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, primarily focused on social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are committed to staff engagement and professional development and aim to equip learners with the skills to become successful adults.

We are looking for a positive, caring individual who can support learners who encounter challenging behaviours. The role involves supporting high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in line with ESTYN requirements and working with groups of approximately 7, 11–14-year-olds who have been referred due to risk of exclusion, school phobia or vulnerability.
The role is based on Cardiff School’s site and reports to the Inclusion Lead Officer. Welsh language ability is desirable but not essential. The position offers opportunities for professional development to enhance your Professional Development Plan.

What we need from you
* Experience of working with challenging, disengaged learners
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent
* Youth Work or Teaching Assistant/teaching qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards one as a condition of employment)
* Ability to communicate effectively with learners, colleagues, managers, parents and stakeholders by phone, in person and in writing
