Summary
As Site Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of the site's daily operations—from managing staff and equipment to coordinating material movements and maintaining compliance. You'll play a key role in driving performance and delivering excellent service to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage daily operations and site personnel
* Ensure efficient processing and movement of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
* Maintain high standards of material quality and compliance with off-taker specifications
* Oversee scrap purchasing, payments, and banking processes
* Manage site records, reporting systems, and operational data (including FRED)
* Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained and compliant
* Support site improvement projects and budget planning
* Promote a strong safety culture and ensure HSEQ compliance
* Liaise with the Environment Agency and planning authorities
* Recruit, train, and motivate site staff to meet operational goals
Qualifications
* Proven experience in site or operations management, ideally in metal recycling or heavy industry
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
* Commercial awareness and budget management experience
* Knowledge of HSEQ regulations and safe systems of work
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
* Competence in operational systems and reporting tools
