Department of Materials, Parks Road, Oxford The Departments of Materials at the University of Oxford are seeking to appoint a permanent HR Officer. Come and join our friendly, small department and play an important role in ensuring we can deliver world-leading research and teaching. The successful post holder will support the delivery of an efficient and effective HR service for the Department. You will take responsibility for organising and completing tasks such as recruitment, payroll changes, visitors’ and casual administration, visa administration and the organisation of staff inductions, while providing clear guidance to managers and staff on routine HR matters. You enjoy working with academics, research staff, and professional services staff, and will work to ensure both departments provide a positive, supportive and inclusive environment for all. About you You will hold or be working towards a qualification in HR or a related field (e.g. CIPD Level 3) and/or have equivalent experience, including experience of working in an HR team/role. You will be confident working independently and within a team. You will have up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law, and awareness of data protection and information security guidelines. You will enjoy providing a high level of customer service and be confident using Microsoft Office tools. You will have the ability to clearly communicate HR processes both verbally and in writing, and to prioritise your workload and produce accurate, detailed work to deadlines.
