We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join our team in Yeovil.
Responsibilities
* Plan project work and oversee procurement of materials and equipment.
* Manage staff and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.
* Supervise day-to-day construction activities, including quality control and site inspections.
* Monitor project progress, set benchmarks, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Review design documents in collaboration with architects, engineers, and surveyors.
* Promote and enforce Health & Safety and Environmental standards, including site inspections.
* Create, review, and amend Method Statements and Risk Assessments as required.
* Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
* Communicate regularly with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to report progress.
* Keep accurate site records, including diaries, reports, and client updates.
* Manage project-specific traffic plans and logistics.
* Complete all required administrative tasks and use company management systems effectively.
* Address unexpected issues on site and elevate to higher management when necessary.
* Undertake additional tasks as required to support project success.
Requirements
* Proven experience in site supervision or Black Hat Supervisor role.
* Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, professionals, and site operatives.
* Leadership skills with the ability to motivate your team and ensure high standards of work.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills to monitor project plans and utilise time and resources effectively.
* Resilience and problem solving abilities to overcome unexpected challenges and make decisions under pressure.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Sound awareness of Health & Safety procedures, legislation, and environmental compliance.
* Competent in maths and IT skills relevant to site management.
* Knowledge of relevant building methods and construction techniques.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
* Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) testing and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting.
* First Aid at Work desirable.
* Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
