The Opportunity
We are creating a Global HR Manager role to take full ownership of the people agenda across our UK and US operations.
This is a standalone, high-accountability leadership position for an experienced HR professional ready to operate at global level in a scaling, founder-led environment.
Reporting to the COO/CLO, you will:
* Oversee our global HR function across the UK and US
* Provide strategic counsel to the executive team
* Ensure compliance across two employment jurisdictions
* Design scalable people frameworks to support ambitious growth
* Shape and protect our culture during rapid expansion
* Support expansion into new markets
* This role is UK-based with regular travel to the US and close collaboration with leadership across both markets.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic People Leadership
* Develop and execute a comprehensive global HR strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
* Partner with leadership to support organisational design, headcount planning, and capability mapping.
* Build board-ready business cases for HR initiatives including systems, benefits, structure and DEI initiatives.
* Lead workforce planning in line with commercial forecasts and operational expansion.
* Act as a trusted advisor on people risk, talent strategy and culture.
Talent Acquisition & Development
* Support leadership with recruitment operations across both territories, leveraging external recruiters where appropriate.
* Build structured hiring frameworks, competency models and interview processes.
* Implement scalable performance management systems.
* Develop career progression and succession planning frameworks.
* Strengthen employer brand positioning in both UK and US markets.
* Support leadership development across mid-senior roles.
Culture & Employee Experience
* Champion Sweet Bee values across geographies.
* Design and lead employee engagement initiatives.
* Strengthen internal communications across time zones.
* Develop measurable DEI initiatives.
* Support change management during growth and structural evolution.
* Maintain the balance between high-performance and people-first culture.
Compliance, Governance & Risk
* Ensure full compliance with UK Employment Law and US Federal and State Employment Regulations.
* Develop and maintain jurisdiction-specific HR policies and handbooks.
* Manage employee relations matters.
* Oversee disciplinary, grievance and investigation processes.
* Coordinate with external legal advisors where required.
* Ensure appropriate documentation, audit-readiness and governance frameworks.
* Oversee workplace health, safety and wellbeing programmes.
Compensation & Benefits
* Design competitive, equitable compensation structures across UK and US markets.
* Conduct market benchmarking and salary banding.
* Lead annual compensation review cycles.
* Manage benefits schemes in both jurisdictions.
* Balance talent retention with disciplined cost control.
* Support leadership with equity or long-term incentive frameworks where relevant.
HR Operations & Infrastructure
* Build scalable HR processes from first principles.
* Implement and optimise HRIS systems.
* Develop meaningful people analytics dashboards.
* Track and report KPIs including retention, time-to-hire, engagement, absenteeism and performance metrics.
* Manage relationships with payroll providers, benefits advisors, employment lawyers and external HR consultants.
* Ensure seamless onboarding and offboarding processes.
Candidate Profile
* We are seeking a commercially aware, high-ownership HR professional who thrives in founder-led environments.
Essential
* 10+ years’ experience in HR leadership.
* Experience operating independently or within a small HR team.
* Multi-jurisdiction exposure across the UK and US with strong working knowledge of employment law.
* Experience building HR frameworks in growth-stage businesses.
* High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
* Strong written communication and documentation skills.
* Ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
* CIPD Level 7 qualification.
* Experience supporting international expansion.
* Experience in DTC, wellness, beauty or consumer brands.
* Experience supporting investment or due diligence processes.
